Tinkergarten provides high-quality early childhood learning in the healthiest classroom of all—the outdoors. Families connect with trained leaders in their local community for play-based kids classes that help develop core life skills, all while having fun!
I am an avid hiker, camper, bird watcher, and budding naturalist, living out on acreage in the foothills of the Cascade mountains. I am also an author, having written a hiking guide for little kids in Southwest Washington (check out www.littlefeethiking.com!). After having my now-preschooler, I left my fast-paced corporate career to be a stay at home mom and now I spend countless hours with my preschooler and other children out exploring the natural world. I especially love empowering children to feel confident out in nature and knowledgeable about what they encounter while engaging with nature. I love to have fun with my little girl, singing silly songs, making art, and dancing. I'm excited I get to combine all of these loves with the Tinkergarten curriculum and share them with families in my community! I have been teaching Tinkergarten classes since Spring 2017 and absolutely love it. I love that I get to watch the same kiddos and parents grow from season to season and that I get to meet new folks each season. I have a pretty laid back teaching style and really embrace the Tinkergarten philosophy of letting kiddos explore the classroom in a way that makes them comfortable. I always try to gently bring kids into our play but recognize that the kids are really our guides. I also love educating parents/caregivers about how to support their kid's play.
