Tinkergarten provides high-quality early childhood learning in the healthiest classroom of all—the outdoors. Families connect with trained leaders in their local community for play-based kids classes that help develop core life skills, all while having fun!
I love nature and strive to spend as much time as possible outdoors. I've explored the country for the past 15 years and ended up right back in PA where I started. I've rock climbed in the Smoky Mountains, surfed in the Atlantic, hiked in the Pacific Northwest, and camped in the Rocky Mountains. What I've learned is that nature is beautiful in countless ways in every place. So, now I reside in the Laurel Mountains where my family and I hike, climb, ski, swim, explore, and play. We learn so much about ourselves, others, and the world around us as we explore. We aim to spend at least three hours outdoors everyday, regardless of the weather. While we don't always succeed, we often do! When we're outside we focus on sensory experiences, independent play, and much more. I've learned a lot about teaching in my years of experience as a teacher for kids, teens, adults, and seniors with disabilities in various settings. This experience helps me see the learning and development that is happening through all of our time playing in nature. I love combining my previous experience and current lifestyle with Tinkergarten's program to reach and support families in my community and help them get outside to learn through play!
