About this class

Every Monday and Friday this Winter, families meet outdoors to connect and learn through play. In a 5-part class each week, Tinkergarten Leader, Kasi Mathews, will facilitate an expert-designed play scenario, allowing children of various ages and needs to explore, problem solve, communicate, collaborate, and create together. Parents and caregivers learn, too, as we’ll share insight into your child’s development.

The program progresses to meet each child’s needs season after season. This winter, the curriculum for 18 months-5 years will support the development of a range of cognitive, social/emotional and physical skills. Our focus skill for the season will be problem solving.

  • Children and adults should come dressed for the day’s weather with a water bottle and snack to enjoy.
  • In cases of extreme weather, families will be notified, and class will be rescheduled.
  • A single adult can accompany up to three children.
  • Siblings over or under the specified age range are most welcome to enroll.
  • Children under the age of 1 year are welcome to come without enrolling.
“ The leaders are amazing, ours truly made the class fun for the kids. My daughter now can't get enough of mud. ”
— Mom to a 22 month old
“ I learned how and when to step back and let my son be himself in certain situations. That was a lesson that I needed so much as a parent. The leader was able to communicate this in such a gentle and generalized way that I was able to step back and see myself. Not only was that a useful lesson, it was life changing. ”
— Mom to a 3-year-old
“ Everything was perfect. I liked being reminded that it's okay for my child to be messy. ”
— Dad to a 3 year old
