Tinkergarten provides high-quality early childhood learning in the healthiest classroom of all—the outdoors. Families connect with trained leaders in their local community for play-based kids classes that help develop core life skills, all while having fun!
Currently I am a homeschool teacher, a stay at home mom, a duck farmer, a gardner, a nature lover, and an artist. My 3 boys, ages 13, 10,and 2, have helped guide my path towards teaching. Beginning in Northern CA at a play based co op preschool. I volunteered and took classes in Positive Discipline. Next we moved to Austin, TX where I taught preschool on a farm. Here with the help of animals, bugs, and plants I saw first hand how children thrive in an outside learning environment. Now we have settled down in the mountains of Virgina. Our home school classroom is surrounded by tulip poplars and beech trees. We have a pond with a flock of ducks, a garden, and lots of dogs and cats. I am continuing to learn about child development and focusing on how to teach the whole child. I have an interest in Waldorf education. In my spare time I get back to making art. I have a Bachelors of Fine Art in Fibers and enjoy weaving, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and felting.
