Tinkergarten provides high-quality early childhood learning in the healthiest classroom of all—the outdoors. Families connect with trained leaders in their local community for play-based kids classes that help develop core life skills, all while having fun!
Some of my favorite memories as a child have a similar theme---playing outside! (As a city kid, connecting with nature required some improvising such as packing snow up the front stairs and sledding down our "hill".) Each season offered up different treasures to explore--squishy spring mud, warm summer breezes, crunchy fall leaves, and winter snow forts. I wanted my 3 children to experience the magic of outdoor playing too! We discovered Tinkergarten in the Fall of 2016 and enjoyed engaging in creative play outside. My shy 2 year old son really blossomed and I became impressed with Tinkergarten's child-centered, play-based activities. So impressed that I decided to become a leader. I taught science for 15 years inside a classroom. I now look forward to having an outdoor classroom and can't wait to begin the next season. I hope you and your family will join us in exploring our beautiful forest preserve, and experiencing the wonder and playfulness of each season.
