As a child, my fondest memories are of playing outside. Having grown up in the Arizona Desert, I know how lucky we are to be able to enjoy the outdoors all year round. My summers were spent in the pool, up north exploring the forest and mountain trails, or playing under the shade of a big tree in our backyard. The rest of the year, we would spend a lot of time hiking and exploring the desert trails looking for different rocks, cacti, and animals. This base of outdoor exposure as a child led me to love, enjoy, and respect the outdoors as an adult. My husband and I love to trail run (he actually proposed at mile 26 of a 50k!), hike, and camp. When we found out we were pregnant with our son, we knew we wanted to also instill a love of the outdoors in him. He is 1 year old, and even now the outdoors has had such a profound impact on him. We can sit outside in the grass for hours and he is engaged the entire time. I am very much looking forward to sharing and leading our Arizona community on outdoor adventures through Tinkergarten! I hope to see you all soon! XOXOX
