I am a lifetime resident of California, and I feel so lucky to live in a state with such diversity in its geography and vast natural settings. This was absolutely the most gorgeous and enjoyable place for me to grow up and to learn outdoors! I spent my childhood moving all over the Bay Area, but most of my years of outdoor play happened in Sonoma County. I still remember the thrill of climbing unthinkably tall eucalyptus trees and collecting fingers full of sap to attach nature treasures to sticks, or strategically stretching through spiked branches of blackberry bushes to reach that final, unpicked fruit. I remember the taste of adventure and sweat, and that leisurely pace of time and endless possibility that marks many childhoods. Each of these memories are so easily recalled because each experience of play left a lasting impression on me, and shaped me into who I am now. I am the mother of a very silly, curious, and energetic son, who's four years old, and I have been watching children and interacting with families and communities my entire life. Literally, from the time I was three, when my mom ran her own in-home preschool, I knew I wanted to be a Mommy and work with kids. I’ve babysat children ages 0-18, of varying social/emotional/cognitive needs. I’ve completed several courses in Child Development, have an AA in Social and Behavioral Science, and I am two credits shy of a certificate in Modern Dance. Besides my technical qualifications, I simply adore kids! They are the most honest, creative, open, silly, driven, inspiring, real people, ever, and I truly feel we should all strive to be more like them. I love getting down on their level and experiencing life from their perspective. For all of these reasons and many more, I am so joyfully inspired to be leading Tinkergarten classes in my area! I believe deeply and wholeheartedly in children's natural ability and desire to learn through play, and I am delighted to be able to share this love and knowledge with members of my community, and to support this learning using the awesome curriculum provided by Tinkergarten, in a beautiful, local green space. I hope to inspire families to get outdoors together. I believe that all children and families should have access to this this kind of learning experience, and with Tinkergarten I am finally able to combine my love of teaching kids and parents, while reveling in the beauty and endless wonder provided by nature. Please join me! I’m looking forward to our next adventure!
