Tinkergarten provides high-quality early childhood learning in the healthiest classroom of all—the outdoors. Families connect with trained leaders in their local community for play-based kids classes that help develop core life skills, all while having fun!
I grew up in the Santa Cruz area, both in the Redwoods and then near the Coast, so the sunlight hours between school and dinner were spent frolicking through the woods or sand, building tree forts and sandcastles, collecting wildflowers and seashells, and just generally enjoying all that nature has to offer. I knew as a child that I wanted to be a teacher and had many years of practicing on my home-schooled younger brother. Throughout my college years I was an aide for special needs students on the autism spectrum, until I became a Montessori teacher in a first through third grade classroom. One of my favorite things about teaching in a Montessori environment is inspiring a love of learning by sparking a child’s natural tendency for curiosity. As a mother of a two-year old, I’ve realized that children’s curiosity is endless. I’m thrilled that Tinkergarten unites my childhood love of the outdoors and my current love of teaching. I’m so excited to share the wonder of nature with the children in my community!
