Hands on. Messy. Open-Ended. Creative. Cooperative. Dynamic. Active Play! This is the hallmark of a truly great day at our house. I have spent the last fifteen years working in the field of early childhood education. During this time I’ve had the pleasure of working with countless children and their parents; overseen the development of a dynamic preschool creative arts program; mentored new teachers; worked alongside a play therapist; helped to organize children’s ministries at several churches; and served as an au pair in Florence, Italy. More significant than all these experiences, however, was the birth of my own children and my choice to stay at home with them. Now I’m busy keeping them busy! Our best days are usually spent outside, playing with water, making mud, digging in the garden and chasing "giants" away. My little ones (like most little ones) are happiest and most imaginative when we’re playing in nature’s classroom. This is why I am so happy to have found Tinkergarten, a place where they can share this kind of play with other children. I love Tinkergarten philosophy because it is a blend of the great early childhood philosophies (Reggio, Waldorf, and Montessori). At Tinkergarten, children's play is deeply respected and supported. Each activity is designed for our children to use play to take their development to the next level. I’d love to have you check out a class and come play with us!!!
